New ownership is revitalizing a first-class golf course and restoring Ferncroft Country Club to its rightful place among Boston’s top private clubs. Known for its Robert Trent Jones, Sr. designed course that hosted the LPGA Boston Five Classic from 1980-90, Ferncroft CC is a full-service club with outstanding food, many social and children’s activities, tennis courts, swimming pool, and fitness center. Set on an idyllic 287 acres, Ferncroft CC’s lush greens are in an incredibly convenient location, just nineteen minutes north of downtown Boston where Route 1 meets I-95 on the North Shore.
Since February 2006 Ferncroft CC has experienced over $2 million in renovations and is independent of the nearby Sheraton hotel for the first time in decades. Major upgrades to the Club’s restaurant, golf course drainage system, practice area, cart paths, fitness center, pool interior and deck, tennis courts, and landscaping have attracted over 325 golf members and 450 total members. A new irrigation system was also installed on the golf course in 2005. Every detail has been tended to without cutting corners, resulting in facilities that complement the natural beauty of the Club’s grounds.
