The Salem News, April 30, 2013

Ferncroft Country Club announced yesterday that it will be open to the public on May 13 with all proceeds going to the One Fund for those impacted by the Boston Marathon bombings.

Affinity Management, owners of Ferncroft, announced that the Middleton course and five of the group’s other properties in the Mid-Atlantic and Midwest will participate in a fundraiser to raise money for the charity started by Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Thomas Menino.

Golfers will be able to play the Robert Trent Jones-designed course for $125 per person or $500 per foursome. The first shotgun start will be at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast, golf and lunch included. The second round will kick off at 1 p.m. and will include lunch, golf and hors d’oeuvres.

The Ferncroft Par 3 Executive Course will also be open to the public for $35.

“We are honored to open the doors of our clubs to help the victims of this horrible tragedy,” said Affinity Managing Director Damon DeVito.

One hundred percent of green fees from the event will be donated to the One Fund.
