Ferncroft CC has proudly assembled a top-notch management team under new ownership since February 2006. Key veterans were retained and these veterans have now been surrounded by a team of energetic, service-minded managers. Member service is a cornerstone of our success and these individuals are a key factor in making it happen:


Ron Rice | General Manager
Prior to coming to Ferncroft in 2016, Ron was the Club Manager at Oakley Country Club in Watertown, MA for 12 years and prior to that was the Clubhouse Manager at the Harvard Club in Boston. Ron is longtime Peabody resident. Ron can be reached at 978-739-4040 x222 or r.rice@ferncroftcc.com.


Pete Diffendal | Director of Business Development
An agency veteran, Pete brings 4+ years of private club digital marketing and 18+ years of event marketing experience to the FCC team. His responsibilities have included business development, sales, account management, operations and department management. Skilled in designing experiences that engage, educate consumers Pete has worked with many leading brands and non-profit organizations including: IBM, Pepsi, Anheuser Busch, General Motors, Hearst Publications, Lowe’s, Hershey, Simon Properties, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Aspen Institute, National Club Association, CMAA Chapters, The First Tee and others. Philip Leiss | PGA Head Golf Professional
Phil brings over 15 years of experience to the position of Head Golf Professional and he is a Class A-1 Member of the PGA. Prior to joining Ferncroft CC in 2004, Phil was the First Assistant at Ipswich CC for six years where he earned the prestigious Maria Iacocca award for Member Service. Phil has completed numerous PGA, NEPGA and USGA teaching and coaching summits and rules seminars. Phil enjoys focusing on customer service and enhancing the overall member experience, and is dedicated to a having a full and varied tournament schedule. Ryan Barry | PGA First Assistant Golf Professional
Ryan graduated from the Professional Golf Management program at Arizona State University where he earned PGA Class A Membership. Growing up in Wakefield, he was a prominent junior player on the NEPGA Junior Tour. Ryan attended Malden Catholic High School where he led the Lancers to a state tournament berth and earned Boston Globe and Catholic Conference All-Star awards. Ryan brings experience from some of the top facilities in the country including Whisper Rock Golf Club and the Walt Disney Company. Michael Cassidy | Golf Course Superintendent
Michael has been the Superintendent at Ferncroft since 2001. Michael came to Ferncroft CC from Tedesco CC where he was First Assistant Superintendent. Raised in Swampscott, MA, Michael graduated from Essex Agricultural College. In addition to managing the golf maintenance operation, Michael enjoys mentoring future superintendents through an apprenticeship approach. Prior to his career in agronomy, Michael had a brief stint in professional baseball before an injury ended his playing career. Having been scouted from the age of 12, his big break came following a hit off former Phillies and Yankee pitcher Ron Darling in a tryout.


Cathy MacPherson | LPGA Instructor
Cathy joined Ferncroft in July 2006 as a full-time golf instructor for male and female members and non-members. Cathy has been ranked as one of the “Top 50 Teachers” in the US by Golf for Women Magazine for six straight years, named “Top Ten Teachers” in Massachusetts by Golf Digest, and selected as one of the "Best Teachers in the Region" by Golf Magazine. Alexandra Cardish | Event Sales Specialist
Alexandra graduated from Siena College in the hamlet of Loudonville, NY with a degree in Business Management. During her tenure at Siena, Alexandra promoted her own entrepreneurial activities of decorating homes and coordinating events. She was also a member of The Siena School of Business’ NEXT Fellowship Program, a significant highlight of her college experience allowing her to gain hands on consulting experience. Growing up living adjacent to her local Country Club in Troy, New York, has allowed Alexandra to develop a special interest for both the game of golf, and the wonderful events hosted at the club. Kimberly Bourque | Event Coordinator
Kimberly attended Salem State College and entered the management program at the Cheesecake Factory after graduation. She helped open and operate Trattoria Sablone’s (of Marblehead) and expanded her experience in the roles of event planner and front of house manager there and at a local high-end steakhouse. Paul Krisko | Food & Beverage Director
Paul joined Ferncroft CC after five years as a General Manager with The Cheesecake Factory and additional experience at Vinny Testa’s Restaurant Group. Amanda Face | Assistant Food & Beverage Manager
A native of Massachusetts, Amanda has been working in the food & beverage industry since 2000. While attending the University of New Hampshire, she honed her skills and has worked at Ferncroft since 2008 developing strong ties with the Club’s team and members. John Malavich | Head Chef
John has been an integral part of our Dining team since 2008. He creates a unique dining experience at Ferncroft CC that combines first-class quality, unparalleled taste and excellent presentation in a casually elegant atmosphere that is suitable for business or social entertainment as well as having a meal following golf or tennis. Chef brings experience from the Back Bay Restaurant Group and other local dining establishments.


Mark Cirolo | Tennis Professional
Mark has been a Tennis Professional for more than 20 years on the North Shore. He is currently teaching at the Newburyport Racquet Club. He also spent 6 years as the Director of Tennis at Boston Sports Club in Lynnfield and was a full time Tennis Professional at Northeast Tennis Center in Middleton.
